Do I get a room list?

Yes – although with some accommodation venues the timliness of a room list can be pretty last minute. Wyvern will push hard for a room list as soon as your Tour Information Form is complete. Some accommdation centres will wait until the last safe moment to pass one to us…last minute is the name of the game.

Do you give large group discounts?

Yes- if you fill a 49 seat coach with over 40 students your group will automatically receive a £6 discount per student which can be as much as £264 off your total tour price.

Please note that on multi coach tours this discount applies to both coaches being over 40 students full and there is no discount on coaches larger than 49 seats due to the fact that they cost more to procure.

Is our money safe with you?

Absolutely…Wyvern are members of ABTA.

All the tours organised by Wyvern are covered by a scheme which provides for your financial protection in the event of company failure.

The ABTA code of conduct is strict and unforgiving. In order to maintain membership Wyvern has to conform to exacting financial checks and ethical standards…visit our page on the ABTA website for more information.

What are the benefits of running a tour through Wyvern instead of doing it ourselves?
  • Wyvern Schooltours are members of ABTA. Wit stringent quality regulations and financial checks on our solvency, our ABTA membership guarantees that we meet the highest standards of commercial and financial integrity and that we fully abide by ABTA’s strict code of conduct on fairness. Our membership number is V0673 and you can see our ABTA page here.
  • We use our bargaining power to bring down costs…we have thousands of passengers per year and suppliers listen when we come asking.
  • We are insured…insured and insured again! We have liability cover for £10,000,000. If anything…touch wood…should go wrong, to a large degree, we are in the firing line not you.
  • We complete many staff hours of work per tour to get the tours up and running. Our files on each tour are always hundreds of pages thick…teachers just don’t have the time to do that these days…we know.
  • We help with planning, our professional tour operators have run hundreds of tours and that kind of help and knowledge is invaluable.
  • Going to the same place as other Wyvern Groups…well, you’ll benefit from our constant contact with the accommodation, we know first if there are things that need to be put right for your visit.
  • We always maintain our “No Surcharge Guarantee” policy, so there are never any financial surprises for our client leaders…not many of our competitors offer that…check the small print!
  • Our client leaders return to us year-on-year because, primarily, leaders feel confident and assured of the services that we provide for their groups, and also because of the value our tours represent.
  • Wyvern support you while on your tour with our 24 hour Emergency phone number, staffed by a senior member of our team 24/7 while you are on your tour…extra peace of mind.
  • No VAT…we do not charge you VAT we take care of that for you…so there is no VAT to pay for you if you look at it that way!
  • Our coach drivers and coach companies are the best available. CRB checked, EU law compliant and courteous to boot…if they are not we put it right.
  • We offer discounts for all kinds of things…multiple groups, large groups, referring others and more…
  • From initial enquiry through subsequent tour arrangements and administration, to the manner in which we expect our tours to be delivered, you will find the Wyvern Schooltours’ professionalism is always present.
  • We are convinced of the importance of ensuring that our tours retain a strong personal element…we hope to be treated as part of your team working together to get the tour running smoothly.
  • Not only do we tailor tours to clients’ specific requirements, but we also audit all the accommodation venues in our sales brochures.
  • We are extremely proud of the service we provide.

What happens to the tour price if lots of students drop out after deposits are paid?

The Wyvern system protects the tour price for those that still want to go, so in short…nothing happens to the tour price if lots of people drop out after the deposits are paid.

You keep the tour price that we agreed when you signed the booking form and paid first and second deposits – the price that we confirm to you in writing in the confirmation letter.

For example if you book and then pay first and second deposits for 45 students on a £250 (total price) tour, then you have a sudden drop down to 30 students – the tour will still run at the final cost of £250 for your remaining 30 students. The students that have dropped out will not receive refunds on their deposits (that’s the nature of deposits) but if they have a legitimate reason, they may be able to initiate an insurance claim with Fogg insurance company.

If a student drops out, be sure to ask your tour operator for a cancellation notice so that your student can efficiently make an insurance claim.

What is the maximum group size?

Wyvern run tours for groups 250+ on regular occasions. Please feel free to enquire about your large group.

Top ↑

What is the minimum group size?

We put that number at the 20 student mark. Any less than that and prices become too high.

Top ↑

What is the payment schedule for Wyvern tours?
  1. First deposits due at signing the Booking Form of £40 per student
  2. Second Deposits of £80 due 6 weeks later
  3. Final Balance is due 10 weeks prior to departure.

We always aim to be as flexible as possible especially where school holidays are in the way od deadlines.
