Safety management system
Our safety management system presents the measures introduced to protect passengers for the duration of tours. These measures are reviewed annually and the document is available on request.
To summarise, it covers aspects including clear and accurate tour elements, local emergency service information, the emergency policy to manage unforeseeable events, the safety criteria by which we contract our coach operators (including vehicle selection, tour itineraries and foreign coach usage), safety issues in port areas for ferries and the Eurotunnel, and the criteria by which our accommodation is selected. Latest copies of our inspections of accommodation venues, covering safety, security, cleanliness and hygiene, are also available on request.
24 hour emergency helpline
Our direct help and emergency service is second to none. We have always had this service. Throughout all tours, party leaders and designated school emergency contacts have direct telephone access to a senior member of our staff 24 hours a day. Our emergency number provides immediate contact with one of us who can make decisions and take action, as necessary, without delay. We are prepared for many foreseeable eventualities.
We do not employ answering services or answering machines, which then give other telephone numbers on our dedicated emergency line.
Wyvern Schooltours Ltd is a member of the Association of British Travel Agents, ABTA. Our membership number is V0673. As such, we are fully bonded according to ABTA’s rules and abide by ABTA’s Code of Conduct. Membership of ABTA demands the highest standards of commercial and financial integrity. The ABTA bond secures money paid to a member, in the event of insolvency. The bond ensures that clients are refunded monies paid, excluding travel insurance premiums, before tour departure date. Once a tour has begun, the bond ensures completion of the tour. ABTA will administer the bond, should the need arise.
