This 'département'  provides a superb introduction to the delights of French life and culture as well as significant aspects of the country’s history, particularly First World War sites.  Street markets, bakeries, confectioners, NAUSICAÄ and La Coupole are well worth visiting.  Day excursions to Paris or Parc Astérix are also possible.
